Is custom handheld spray tanning safe?
Absolutely! The sunless solution used by Emberglow is nut-allergen free, gluten-free, paraben-free and contains no synthetic fragrances. Our solution is sugar-based and the active tanning ingredient is DHA. DHA has been approved for use by the FDA for over 40 years. The process of applying the tan is quick and takes less than fifteen minues. Your custom color is created based on your skin tone and personal preference and then applied with a handheld airbrush gun.
I want a custom tan for an upcoming event. When should I make my appointment?
Custom spray tanning is perfect for weddings, special events, prom, dance recitals, fitness competitions, pageants, a girl's night out or a vacation.
I would suggest making your appointment two days before your event. You'll then have enough time to get your first shower in and the color will be completely developed before your event.
What should I wear for the application?
Wear your bathing suit, just bottoms or whatever you feel most comfortable in. Disposable bottoms are available. Men are required to wear bottoms.
Will the tan solution stain my clothing?
The spray tanning solution is applied in a fine mist and contains no permanent dyes. The tanning solution is water-soluble, just like make-up. Therefore, in most cases, the color will come out of clothing in the wash. Once you have taken the first shower after your session, the tan is set and
will not rub off on clothing.
Can my spray tan protect me from UV sun rays?
No. The spray tan solution does not contain a sunscreen and does not protect against sunburn. Please be sure to apply SPF lotions or sprays when you are in the natural sun.
Is it safe to get a spray tan if I'm pregnant?
There has been no testing to prove that sunless tanning while pregnant is harmful. Please consult your doctor or nurse prior to booking your appointment.
How long will my tan last?
The length of your tan depends on several factors. The main factors are how well you have prepped your skin and how well you hydrate your skin. Everyone's skin is unique. If you keep you skin well-hydrated after your session, THE GLOW will last about 5-7 days. THE ORGANIC GLOW will last about 7-10 days before it has fully and naturally faded. The desired depth of color will determine how often you will need to reschedule.

Can I bring my child with me to my appointment?
Unfortunately, the spray tanning room at Salon 86 does not have a separate area for children. We'd love for you to devote your 30-minute session time to a relaxing, spray tan application. If you can't make it to the salon, schedule a mobile session!
